Terbium monosulfide can be synthesised by heating stoichiometric amounts of pure substances in an inert atmosphere:3

Tb + S → TbS

Physical properties

Terbium monosulfide forms crystals of cubic system, space group Fm3m, isomorphous with NaCl.45
