Chindrieux is commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France.
It lies near Lake Bourget.

World Heritage Site
It is home to one or more prehistoric pile-dwelling (or stilt house) settlements that are part of the Prehistoric Pile dwellings around the Alps UNESCO World Heritage Site.1
Climate
Chindrieux has an oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification Cfb) closely bordering on a humid subtropical climate (Cfa). The average annual temperature in Chindrieux is 11.9 °C (53.4 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,233.9 mm (48.58 in) with October as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in July, at around 21.6 °C (70.9 °F), and lowest in January, at around 2.6 °C (36.7 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Chindrieux was 40.7 °C (105.3 °F) on 12 August 2003; the coldest temperature ever recorded was −19.5 °C (−3.1 °F) on 7 January 1985.
