<p>A two-dimensional conformal field theory is a <a href="/facts/Quantum_field_theory/VoewsNJV">quantum field theory</a> on a Euclidean <a href="/facts/Two-dimensional_space/f4b397W8">two-dimensional space</a>, that is invariant under local <a href="/facts/Conformal_map/cEpQnMad">conformal transformations</a>. </p><p>In contrast to other types of <a href="/facts/Conformal_field_theory/McVlk4hR">conformal field theories</a>, two-dimensional conformal field theories have <a href="/facts/Infinite-dimensional/z8m02A3W">infinite-dimensional</a> symmetry algebras.
