They play in the <a href="/facts/Russian_Premier_League/gW1yhDJK">Russian Premier League</a>. Founded <a href="/facts/1958_in_Russia/h1s7BJEJ">in 1958</a>, Rubin played its first-ever top flight season in <a href="/facts/2003_Russian_Premier_League/eRFe0vAB">2003</a>. It has remained there through the 2021–22 season, winning the <a href="/facts/Russian_Premier_League/gW1yhDJK">Russian Premier League</a> championship in <a href="/facts/2008_Russian_Premier_League/ASJ5jVBK">2008</a> and <a href="/facts/2009_Russian_Premier_League/JgG6zQJG">2009</a>. After one season in the second tier, the club returned to the RPL for the 2023–24 season. The club also won the <a href="/facts/2011%25E2%2580%259312_Russian_Cup/aFxo2FyC">2011–12 Russian Cup</a>.
