<p><i>Labrys</i> is, according to <a href="/facts/Plutarch/p3bywktN">Plutarch</a> (<i>Quaestiones Graecae</i> 2.302a), the <a href="/facts/Lydian_language/6Qj2CC35">Lydian word</a> for the <a href="/facts/Axe/caIr6REq">double-bitted</a> <a href="/facts/Axe/caIr6REq">axe</a>. In Greek it was called πέλεκυς (<i>pélekys</i>). The plural of <i>labrys</i> is <i>labryes</i> (λάβρυες). </p>
