It is a <a href="/facts/Ferrimagnetism/sMcg7RYt">ferrimagnetic</a> material with a <a href="/facts/Curie_temperature/ygotSuMg">Curie temperature</a> of 560 <a href="/facts/Kelvin/E3trzC4C">K</a>. YIG may also be known as yttrium ferrite garnet, or as iron yttrium oxide or yttrium iron oxide, the latter two names usually associated with powdered forms. </p>
