<p>Lord Uxbridge's leg was shattered, probably by a piece of <a href="/facts/Case_shot/bSNMT2NC">case shot</a>, at the <a href="/facts/Battle_of_Waterloo/jmATjc2f">Battle of Waterloo</a> and removed by a surgeon. The amputated right limb became a tourist attraction in the village of <a href="/facts/Waterloo%2c_Belgium/Eo0jHxER">Waterloo, Belgium</a>, where it had been removed and interred. </p>
