<p>Sharan Leslie Burrow <a href="/facts/Companion_of_the_Order_of_Australia/rx4oLyAh">AC</a> (born 12 December 1954) is an Australian trade unionist who served as the general secretary of the <a href="/facts/International_Trade_Union_Confederation/Ms4uFlGn">International Trade Union Confederation</a> (ITUC) from 2010 to 2022 and as president of the <a href="/facts/Australian_Council_of_Trade_Unions/l49SLm8a">Australian Council of Trade Unions</a> (ACTU) from 2000 to 2010. She was the first woman to become General Secretary of the ITUC since its foundation in 2006, and was the second woman to become President of the ACTU. </p>
