Constituting ~50–70% of cells in human islets, beta cells play a vital role in maintaining blood <a href="/facts/Glucose/oUSkoLCD">glucose</a> levels. Problems with beta cells can lead to disorders such as <a href="/facts/Diabetes/2xeHXbsI">diabetes</a>. </p>
